今のMBA就職戦線がどれほど厳しいか？

金融危機で企業の業績はへこんでいますが、それと同様、ジョブマーケットも大変厳しい状況に立たされています。この就職戦線の厳しさは、もろにMBAの学生を直撃していきます。

厳しい厳しいといっても、どれほど厳しいか、少し定量的にみてみましょう。私の聞いているところでいうと、LBSの確保しているサマーンインターシップの数の昨年対比で以下のとおりです（最新の数値はもう少し改善しているかもしれません）

コンサルティングファーム　40%
投資銀行　　　　　　　　　　 30%

40％減、30％減ではありません。コンサルティングファームで、6割減、投資銀行で7割減というありようです。それもそのはずで、経験者をリストラしている最中に、新しい人を採用しようとはなかなかならないもの。

金融機関系が壊滅状態になったために、その分コンサルティングファームに流れ、そのコンサルティングもそれほど状況が思わしくないため、次はインダストリーに流れていくという大きなトレンドができつつあります。

これは個人的にはいいことだとおもっています。より多様なキャリアと追求するいい機会になるのではないかと期待しています。

最近、周りを見渡してみると、なんだかんだいって、みなサマーインターシップのポジションを確保してきているように思います。みな、状況の厳しさを知るやいなや、それぞれ二の策を実行して、成果を出してきています。しっかりしています。

2. Telecoms, Media and Technology
3. Pharmaceuticals, FMCG and Manufacturing
4. Energy

Boot Camps will be held at lunchtimes on Tuesdays and Thursdays on April 21, 23, 28 and 30. Please check Career Central for session times.

The Boot Camps will provide you with core sector knowledge from sector specialists and key information and resources to help you in your job search. You will also get personalised feedback (from sector specialists, career coaches and the group) on how to handle interviews, your pitch, how to leverage the network in this sector and any other topics that you would like help with.

Tough interview questions for this sector and how to answer them
A customised speculative e-mail for networking
How to reply to job ad that you are applying for
